Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Amy Smart, born and raised in California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her acting debut came in the year 1996 with her debut in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role on Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. In the beginning, it was difficult for her to transition from modeling to acting. The reason is that most models aren't great actors. They are typically given insignificant and small roles. Amy was determined to succeed and was eventually offered larger roles beginning with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she had been chasing since the age of 10. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she was the well-loved character of recurring.
